where to start?

i bought a new camera and i am so damn excited i can hardly stand it! i’ve alway tried to be sensible with purchases for my business (although i will go crazy spending money on education, no question). it gives me piece of mind.

i wasnt looking for a new camera but when the one i had for a year and a half decided to be disagreeable and stopped working (talk about falling out of love fast on my end!) i thought i would look into options. the technology of late has changed soooo much there would be logical reasons to look into something.

when looking for a camera and trying to be sensible, you do a lot of reading and never really feel like the decision you are going to make is going to be the BEST one. i’m sure you all can relate to that when you’ve purchased a camera! so i decided to throw all of that balancing of scales out the window and just go for it. and why not, after all? this is what i do, this is my LIFE, just let go of the cash, you can always make more!

sooooo…this is the first session i did with my new baby, and, it was so right on the money. i invited my friend and new studio mate michele to come down and play (some of her images are here) which makes a shoot much more fun, and i had the BEST couple ever (seriously, they are so cool, i can’t even tell you ).

this girl is going places. she’s probably going to be a doctor someday. i think she may have a busier schedule than the president she’s sweet and she’s beautiful. and the eyes…..girl, just stop wit yo baaaad self

darling little ava

i met little ava (i’ll show her off in a little bit) and her parents through my killer clients, kari and steve (and little jack jack, below). i just love how silly and crazy and different this image is. and jack, he’s so passionate

kari and steve were one of the first clients that told me i could do what i wanted. they let me take their not yet one year old out around the industrial area by my old studio space. they let me put him on the dirty ground, told me i could do whatever i wanted. i just love those guys, they’ve become friends (one of the many perks of this profession!) and kari (the mama) organizes willow’s wild child day (my yearly client appreciation party). i strive to be as organized as that woman, she is the best!

so anyway, kari introduced me to ava’s mom and i had the chance to hang with their fam for a bit…here’s what came of our time together…

little kids this age just LOVE to push this chair around, it is the cutest thing. i just love ava’s smile, its so intensely happy you cant help but smile when it fills up her face. and she makes the cutest noises too…

and then came the sugar we loaded up this little body with a hello cupcake (you know how their frosting is about 2 inches tall??) and she just went crazy! plus we had some balloons and she is bonkers over balloons. i think you can tell in these images, yes?
