i love the people i meet that chose me as their photographer. i have a connection with them. they say things like “i want something a little different, not traditional”. bingo! i know we are going to work well together…
what is better than that?
when i photograph just for the fun of it. there may be a purpose or it may be random with no plan, i don’t care, as long as there is FREEDOM.
like when you were a kid and your mom let you pick out your clothes, it was exactly what you wanted.
(hopefully for you there is no photographic evidence like my 2nd grade class pic, but that’s another story!
)
I met the Starstruck girls at the 6th ave festival, art on the ave. i was walking by and i heard them rockin out, covering billy idol’s white wedding. dude, they’re average age is like 12! white wedding! how cool! they also write their own songs and they practice every week. how could i not offer my services to chicks like this??

yeah!!!!!!!
then i had another opportunity to photograph some more beautiful chicks…fabe (one of my studio partners) photographed them as well in another part of the studio, her shots are here.

and this girl was not a model, she was the makeup artist, yeah, i know, gorgeous! and, your jealousy will not stop there…that is her real freakin hair!!!

I met these girls through ondia at the shoe show (on 6th ave, have you been there? it’s the ultimate girly store, you’ll love it!). she put together a fashion show and asked me to photograph.
i felt kinda cheated because the show happened so fast and i wanted to be able to do a full shoot with them all prettied up. i ended up meeting roni at an event later that night (she’s a hairstylist at steven’s in tacoma) and she said she and the makeup artist would recreate the girls looks for a shoot. omg, yeah!!!! it was so FUN!
those are the times when you have to say “somebody stop me!”
(are u hearin’ jim carrey?? the mask? work with me people! ok i’m off on a tangent but what that line makes me think of is my little brother casey sliding around the house at 8 years old making the face jim carrey did in that movie and saying that exact line just like he did, it was so funny, makes me smile just sittin’ here…)
so anyway, those are the stories, and seeing as it’s well past my bedtime (i have to get up in 6 1/2 hours and i’m an 8 hour girl!!!),
I’M OUTTA HERE!!
