tyler

my ratio of guy to girl sessions with seniors is heavily weighted on the chick side. i dont feel like everything has to be equal in this instance, its fun to photograph girls!!  plus most senior guys are just wanting to get the whole thing over with so their mom will stop bugging them :)

tyler is into photography. i love it when the artsy kids pick me, they are down for anything and understand the beauty of an awesome image. everyone can look at photographs and it can appeal to their eyes, artsy kids know the elements that came together to create it.

i just ordered a new toy, a battery pack so i can take my studio lights outside and shoot in some harsh lighting conditions. i will now have the power (literally) to create more of that fashion lighting that i love so much :) tyler was my experimental session with my new stuff. the ones with the sky were on the 11th street bridge @ 2pm. we were in the shade and the bright light was everywhere else. it kind of creates this surreal effect that i think is super cool.

my friends are bombshells

Saturday, August 28th, 2010

as ice cube would say, today was a good day.

start off with sleeping in till about 830. awesome.

then my girl carla comes over and we have coffee.  i just love carla. we are so like minded in so many ways. its like a treat when i get to hang out with her one on one :) she is such a good friend and so silly, and laid back and fun. and i love her curly hair :)

then i go with her to hang/help her on her on her downtown t-town shoot. perfect.we had so much fun, found another ugly awesome couch (i cant wait to shoot on it!!!!!!!), went and hung out at tully’s, then she dropped me at the studio. then stacey and her girls come. so much fun and its only 1230 :)

stacey (she’s in the middle) is like a sister to me. in fact us sisters call her the 4th sister. but then she wanted to be the first sister because she was born first. she can be whatever she wants as long as she keeps feeding me with her wonderful, delicious, pretty food!!!

her two friends from high school were coming up to see her (from L.A. &  Houston) so we planned a shoot. they sent images back and forth with their phones while they shopped and the outfits and colors came together so perfect!

the day started with a spread. a stacey spread. we kicked it in the space and ate some yummy food. i would write what it was but i’ll leave it to stacey, i’m sure she’ll comment on this post with all the details. she makes it sound so yummy, she has good words :)

yeah, more gorgeousness, we had an abundance :) these ladies were the epitome of a bombshell!

and then they took off to portland for the weekend. seriously, what a perfect day! I had soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much fun with these chicks! its the kind of thing where you could just hang out for like, 2 days and never stop talking and laughing and having fun except when you were sleeping. then you’d get right up and start all over. and eat good food. and laugh. and talk. and laugh!!!

i love this kind of friendship, there is nothing else like it. it’s so special and so mutually fulfilling. i felt like together we created this vibrant energy that would consume anyone near us :) and i mean that in a good way!

i feel so lucky to have days like this. friends like this. i want to say i want more days like this. then i feel a little greedy. like i should just be happy with the ones i have. nope, i want more. and more. like butter on popcorn. as long as its still got some crunch, is there really such thing as too much? that’s what they made napkins for :)

weddings part 9

the location was port gamble, the weather couldnt have been more perfect. the church was so beautiful to photograph in. lots of churches are dark and windowless which makes photographing in them not as fun. this one was fun!! i loved the simplicity of the whole event, the colors, the dresses, everything felt clean and light.

in the last year, these two had been separated for a large portion of it, he’s military. they bought a house, she and some of her fam remodeled it (like it had no walls and stuff! she’s handy!), AND she planned a wedding. yes, amazing. she is that girl, a get-er-done girl…
